ScholarshipsHelping Make APCE Accessible APCE wants financial circumstances to be as small a barrier as possible to participation in our community. Through the generosity of APCE members, partners, and friends, scholarships are available to help anyone in financial need who serves in Christian education and faith formation—whether volunteer, staff, or pastor—participate in the APCE Annual Event. 2027 Annual Event Scholarship$800
The current scholarship plan provides $405 for the Early Bird Annual Event registration fee, with the remaining $395 available to help offset expenses such as travel and lodging. A check for the $395 balance will be mailed during the Annual Event. Who May Apply?Any APCE member with financial need is encouraged to apply. Applicants must not have received an APCE Annual Event scholarship for Memphis or Pittsburgh. APCE especially wants to make participation possible for people for whom the cost of attending the Annual Event might be a barrier. 2027 Scholarship PrioritiesFor 2027, scholarship funds have been designated for several priority groups, including: Small Worshiping Communities
Educators serving communities with fewer than 80 people in average worship attendance
Retired Educators
LGBTQ+ Applicants
People of Color
ELCA Participants
A special fund is available for 2027 and 2028 only.

Please don't let that stop you from applying. These priorities help guide the Scholarship Team, but any eligible APCE member with financial need is encouraged to apply. Scholarships may be awarded beyond these categories when funds are available. How Are Scholarships Awarded?Applications are reviewed by the APCE Scholarship Team, a work team of the Sustain Ministry Team. The team considers the information provided in each application, financial need, the scholarship priorities established for the year, and the funds available.
