It is our prayer that this resource will strengthen the support of local Church Educators, while at the same time building stronger relationships between educators and congregations in the shared ministries of serving Jesus Christ.

This resource has been a dream of the Professional Development and Advocacy Committee for about a year and thanks to the many efforts and skills of our members it has become a reality.

The main goal of this resource is to assist local congregations in supporting their educators in a meaningful and faithful ministry. We have included the areas listed in the Book of Order, what many presbyteries are doing to support their educators, an outline of issues to raise with an Educator Search Committee or your Staff and Personnel Committee, and a list of questions Church Educators should consider before accepting a new position. These are not all of the ways in which a church can assist and support its educators but it is a way to start this support process
