If you haven’t been to the APCE website lately, check it out. It is time to begin to make plans for the Annual Event in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 2 to 5, 2011. On the website you can make hotel reservations and get information about sharing a room and shuttle transportation from the airport.
Now it is possible to make donations to APCE online. Use the safe and secure form to donate to the endowment fund, the scholarship fund, or the general fund. A donation can be given in memory of someone or to honor someone who has been important in your life.
Educator of the Year, Jann Treadwell, gave an inspiring speech when she accepted the award in Nashville. Click under her name on the website to read her story.
Click on “Past Annual Events” on the right and find these things about the Annual Event in Nashville in January—
• Wonderful pictures of many aspects of the conference
• Great videos that will make you smile
• The order form to purchase the recordings of the worship services and plenary sessions
• Complete a survey of your experience
• Rodger Nishioka has shared a power point entitled “Beyond Crafts and Flip Charts: Developing a Vibrant Theology of Christian Education”
• Six articles from the Presbyterian News Service reporting our event
And, as always, there is a wealth of information on regional events and activities, certification courses, employment opportunities, and much more. Remember that regional conferences are open to anyone, not just the members of that region.
The Polity course will be offered at the PC(USA) General Assembly on July 3 to 8 in Minneapolis. Human Growth and Faith Development will be offer on August 2 to 6 at the Presbyterian Center in Irving, Texas and on August 9 to 12 at Highlands Camp and Conference Center in Allenspark, Colorado.
Contact information and more courses are on the website.
I hope that all of you find time this summer for refreshment and renewal.
Blessings,Eileen Best
APCE President
